My name is Robin, and I'm a passionate web developer and a huge fan of Factorio.

I started playing it in its early days, when the alien spawner dropped science packs and it was still in experimental mode. 🤪

Why did I put the effort into this webpage? First and foremost, I wanted to see if I could automate the creation of a new game session in a reliable way that would also provide metrics about the previous game.

After figuring out how to do that, I needed a way to keep each new game interesting. Why create a new game that's the same as the old one, right?

That's when I started thinking about an online "metagame" that progresses by actually playing the game Factorio.

The rules of this "metagame" are pretty simple.

At exactly 12:00 a.m. on the 1st of every month, a new game starts with increased difficulty compared to the previous game. Increased difficulty is defined by more and stronger enemies.

A bonus is granted if the previous game was completed and the victory screen was shown. The bonus is defined as more and bigger resource patches.

The end goal, of course, is to reach the maximum value that the settings allow.

This concept could be further developed by including mods that would be enabled or tweaked for each new month. For now, however, that is beyond my capability.

Factorio is a game in which you build and maintain factories.

You will be mining resources, researching technologies, building infrastructure, automating production, and fighting enemies. Use your imagination to design your factory, combine simple elements into ingenious structures, apply management skills to keep it working, and protect it from the creatures who don't really like you.

The game is very stable and optimized for building massive factories. You can create your own maps, write mods in Lua, or play with friends via Multiplayer.

Factorio was in development from the spring of 2012 to the beginning of 2021. So far over 3,500,000 people have bought the game. You can get it from Steam, GOG, or directly from our shop.
